The Quick Drift: Cheyenne Frontier Days

This series captures moments that hold a sense of movement and stillness in the same frame. At first, I was drawn towards riveted onlookers holding their breath while focused on the event but as I began to work back towards the cowboy ready and backstage areas I found other moments of quiet that caught my eye - a handshake between competitors, a quiet moment under the bleachers before the competition, and laughter on fence rails.

These photos are feasibility work for the large scale documentary photo project I’m working on.
